So far, so good.

So today has been my fifth day on the Atkins Induction Diet. I have been doing really well on it, and I’m really proud of myself at this point. I don’t think I’ve lost any weight, but I did move my scale from the carpet of my bedroom to the tile floor in the bathroom, which made me realize I’m really about 126 pounds, not 133 as I had thought. I didn’t think a scale on carpet could make such a difference than if it were on hard floor…but then I guess it’s possible I have lost a pound or two. I got ketostix today and I am in ketosis, which from what I understand means that I am burning fat instead of carbs, which is of course the goal of the diet. So I’m really happy about that. I haven’t been exercising much, but today I did go on a 40 minute walk/jog outside because it was really nice out, and then did a quick ab video on ondemand. Hopefully the weather will be good again tomorrow so I can get outside again. I do think my jeans are fitting a bit more loosely already. starting again..

Well, I haven’t been on this site in quite a few months, and last time I was here I only stuck to my healthy eating and exercise for three days. I was counting calories at that time, and have been attempting to do that in the months since then, but I’m just gaining weight and it’s hard for me to restrict calories for a whole day. So, after seeing so many friends and family members lose weight with the Atkins diet, I’ve decided I’m going to try it. I will start tomorrow and hopefully be able to stay motivated. I do love my carbs, but I think if I can do the two-week induction and see results, I’ll be able to stay motivated and stick it out. Wish me luck! I’ll keep posted.

So far…

So, I’ve only been counting calories for 3 days, but so far, I’m quite proud of myself. I’ve kept my daily caloric intake between 1300-1400 calories for all 3 days. And I’ve exercised at least 30 minutes every day for all 3 days. I’m really excited to lose this weight! I’m really impatient though, it’s only been 3 days, yet I find myself stepping on the scale all the time to see if I’ve lost anything. Not yet. But I hope by my 7th day I’ll have lost a pound..or 2 if I’m lucky. We’ll see… I am really motivated though. I’ve never been able to go a whole day counting calories. In the past I’ve been able to keep track for most of the day. But by the time dinner comes around, I’m sick of it and just stuff my face, and then continue to eat snacks before bed. I’m definitely glad that I’ve overcome that problem! We’ll just see how this goes I guess…
